Contour 556: Canberra Art Biennial—Joanna Lamb & Ruth Waller

October 1 - November 12, 2022

Artist talks October 1, The Mixing Room Gallery

Contour 556 returns for its fourth edition, with a suite of displays and events, including works by Joanna Lamb & Ruth Waller at The Mixing Room Gallery, Thor’s Hammer.

Contour 556 is Canberra’s biennial public art festival, curated by Neil Hobbs. The 2022 edition sees the festival rebranded as Canberra Art Biennial, and the expansion to the National Arboretum (contour 656) and the University of Canberra (contour 606), while expanding on its presence in North and South Canberra, centred on contour 556 (‘contour 556’ being the height above sea level of Lake Burley Griffin). In a collection of artworks and installations, artists respond to the designed city of Canberra: represented by Australia’s political, cultural and physical history.
