Rustic / Lightly Dressed

The timbers are dressed back just enough to remove all the old saw marks from the surface, but we make sure to keep as much of the darker colours and rustic checking underneath as we can.

This finish may have limited availability because we need to select timbers that have had more weathering or wear, and have developed more character over their previous life.

Only certain species of timber tend to develop the fine cracking and patina suitable for this finish - usually mainly Blackbutt and Ash.
