OUR NEW SOLAR SYSTEM
September 2019
Running all the machinery and lighting in a big workshop uses plenty of electricity. We recently contacted the ACT Government’s ACTSmart Energy & Water program to provide a free water & energy assessment of premises at the renovated Tip Top bread factory in Griffith, ACT.
The assessor inspected our annual energy bills and how this energy was being used throughout the business and provided a list of no cost energy and water saving actions that could be easily implemented - it’s an excellent program.
Through the ACTSmart program Thor’s Hammer was offered 50% in rebates on money spent on upgrades up to $10,000 including $5,000 for solar systems and $5,000 energy and water technology upgrades. We went ahead with a high quality and cost effective solution from Solar4Life, who provided a 29.7kW system including 90 high-efficiency Canadian panels. This system should reduce our total electricity consumption by at least 25-30%. We are looking forward to seeing how it performs!
