We hope you’ve been staying safe and calm in this latest crisis to reach our shores. We want to let you know that Thor’s Hammer is still open for business (as part of the timber & building industry we are currently classed as an essential service) - and following all best practices and Dept of Health guidelines to respond to Covid-19 / coronavirus.

This includes:

IN OUR SHOWROOM & OFFICE

  • We can serve you in our showroom, with a maximum of 9 people permitted at one time (this gives a ratio of one person per 10sqm), and a maximum of 6 people in our upstairs gallery (one person per 45sqm). If the showroom is full we will come outside to see you on our deck. We have halved staff numbers in the office and showroom as well.

  • Designs and jobs can be progressed contactlessly through zoom meetings, or over the phone using the detailed information on our web site or by showing you details using Facetime - we are flexible as to what works best.

  • During Autumn, the doors to the showroom are being left open so customers do not have to touch door handles and for extra ventilation. Wear warm clothes if you are visiting on a cold day!

  • All touchable surfaces are being sanitised regularly. Eftpos machine is sanitised after each use.

  • We can no longer accept cash payments.

  • We cannot serve anyone in person who

    • has any of these symptoms: Fever - Cough - Sore throat - Shortness of Breath

    • If you or a member of your household have travelled overseas in the last 14 days

    • If you have had contact with someone diagnosed with or suspected of having Coronavirus in the last 14 days

SITE VISITS

  • If a site visit is required a full suite of measures is in place including a non contact system and sanitisation of all relevant touchable surfaces at the start and finish of our visit. Please contact our sales staff to discuss.

OUR WORKSHOP & STAFF

  • Extra hygiene and hand washing amongst staff

  • Daily sanitisation of touchable surfaces, shared tools and equipment.

  • Sanitisation of the lunchroom after each use.

  • Staggered shifts to reduce contact amongst staff and increase physical distancing (with a full team we have one person per 120sqm in our workshop).

  • Split shifts in the design and office team. We have created two seperate teams taking turns working 3 days at the Hammer and the other 2.5 days from home or from our seperate container office.

  • Physical distancing amongst staff.

  • Staff remaining at home and seeking medical checks / testing if feeling any symptoms of illness

  • Close communication with staff to help everyone stay calm and relieve anxiety

Thor’s Hammer will continue to monitor the situation and respond as the situation changes and any updates will be communicated through our web site and newsletter.

If you have any questions please visit our contact page and send us an email, or give us a call. We hope you all stay safe in this difficult year.

Best wishes from Thor & the team.
