Last Chance to Grab These Historic Timbers (LAST FEW PACKS!)

October 2024

When we salvage a load of historically significant timber, there’s usually a rush of excitement—but occasionally, a few special pieces linger in our yard longer than expected. Here are three historic hauls with limited stock left—perfect for projects that need a little injection of character and history!

#1 — Jarrah End Grain Blocks From 1920s Kingston Printing Factory

If you’re after something truly unique, our Jarrah end grain blocks are a stunning choice for timeless parquetry flooring. Salvaged from the 1920s Government Print Factory on Wentworth Avenue, Kingston, these blocks are full of local Canberran history. Tough, beautiful, and full of character, they’re a rare find that will bring a piece of Canberra’s past into your home. With only three pallets left, this is a limited opportunity to secure a piece of history. This floor would be perfect for a studio or apartment, one large room or even a gallery space or workshop. It could also work really well to define a mud room or make an entrance area really special.

The majority of this timber has been turned into pergolas and other large outdoor structures, internally as exposed beams for houses, with timber also going into our steel hoop leg tables, bookshelves and cabinets, and offcuts of the oregon going into our Skylark hangboards.

These pieces are perfect for standout projects like waterfall benchtops, Steel Hoop Leg tables, or exposed ceiling beams.
