MEET THE MAKER - DANILO ENDERS-MOJE
June 2022
Meet Danilo Enders-Moje, our Joinery Manager here at Thor’s Hammer.
Danilo has savant-like problem solving and fabricating skills. His vast knowledge of different materials and manufacturing processes has helped us push the boundaries of design and under his leadership we have elevated the quality and efficiency of our workshop.
A perfectionist at heart, Danilo has an incredible eye for detail, the high expectations he has set for everyone at Thor's are just as high as the expectations he places on himself.
Danilo has a big personality and a sense of humour that takes time to get used to, but he is incredibly thoughtful and a complete softie when it comes to his Miniature Pinscher, Ari.
Get to know Danilo below.
Tell us about your role at Thor’s Hammer.
I have been at Thor’s since early 2016 and managing the joinery for the last 4 years. I oversee a team of 11 joiners and 1 metalworker. Along with managing production I help the design team to make sure new designs are efficient to produce, and I also take care of ordering and scheduling in the joinery
I also run any unusual projects in between like building our new delivery truck, and designing specialised equipment to help out in our day-to-day tasks.
What projects are you currently working on?
At the moment I'm getting the workshop ready for a couple of new machines that will be arriving before the end of the year, one being a 5-axis CNC machine which will open us up to some exciting new designs and processes in the future.
What do you consider your biggest accomplishment?
Personally, my biggest accomplishment would be completing my Restomod 1963 Volvo Amazon wagon. The engineering that went into putting a modern engine into a vintage body was a big challenge, but delivered a great reward.
What’s your earliest memory of working with timber?
My earliest memory working with timber would have to be at around the age of 12 helping my father make plywood shipping crates for his glass artworks.
What are you proudest of at Thor’s?
I’m really proud of designing our 1545 and Arciform tables alongside Thor and being able to use my past experience working with steel to design and fabricate the armatures that attach the legs.
