In 2019 we moved from the Old Canberra Brickworks where we had been for 25 years, to new premises at 10 Mildura St Griffith ACT. The new site had been the Sunrise / Tip Top Bakery since 1954 and had great bones.

We stripped out the old partitioned offices and made a big showroom space with plenty of room for displays and samples of all the many different recycled timbers and finishes. The old dough mixing room upstairs was converted into the Mixing Room Gallery, which is currently displaying our new table designs.

We got out the demolition saws and cut through the double brick walls to put in a big set of timber framed glass doors going from the showroom straight out into the joinery workshop. You can see straight through to the team at work. Important to keep that connection strong between the makers, our designers and you our clients!

The old bread making machinery was stripped out from the workshop and we could suddenly see how much space there was - plenty to design it so production flows smoothly from the timber arriving from demolitions, to de-nailing and metal detecting, to dressing and then joinery. The workshop is so much more efficient than our old set up at the Brickworks.

Right behind the showroom we found room for timber racks where you can select through our recycled timbers if you want to make your own piece or select timbers for us to use.

Final assembly of furniture and bench tops are also close to the showroom, set behind a half height wall so you can safely watch our artisans putting the finishing touches on your piece - built with care and attention to quality, a piece designed to be enjoyed and handed down to your children and grandchildren.

Come and visit us and check it all out, or scroll on for a photo documentary of the new premises:
