WasteWood Marrickville Welcomes Thor’s Hammer Benchtops & Tabletops

October 2024

Sydney locals can now get their hands on Thor’s Hammer’s recycled timber benchtops and tabletops at WasteWood in Marrickville—now ready to view, purchase, and pick up directly from their workshop.

A Shared Passion for Recycled Timber

This partnership feels like a great fit. WasteWood and Thor’s Hammer both share a passion for salvaging, reclaiming, and recycling timber, so joining forces to keep it out of landfill makes perfect sense.

Joe Antonious and the team at WasteWood are super committed to growing awareness around the benefits of using recycled timber for building and furniture-making.

They also provide workbench space, tools, and tuition for their local community, helping both seasoned builders and newcomers get hands-on with recycled timber for their own projects.

As a growing hub in Sydney for quality recycled timber, WasteWood offers a broad range of reclaimed and recycled products, including decking, flooring, and dressed timbers. Now, with our benchtops in the mix, customers have even more ways to get creative with their recycled timber projects.

For Sydneysiders, it’s the perfect chance to pick up a benchtop from Thor’s Hammer locally, without the trip to Canberra!

New Benchtops, New Possibilities

WasteWood is now stocking our recycled timber benchtops in set widths—330mm, 620mm, 755mm, and 930mm—with lengths up to 3600mm and a thickness of 37mm. Some of these are mixed-colour benchtops, which have been a hit with Sydney customers. Each one is unique, with distinct grains, knots, and hues that add character and depth.

These benchtops are versatile and can be used for kitchen counters, dining tables, work desks, island benchtops, bar tops, or even bathroom vanities. Crafted from timbers salvaged from building structures, they have low moisture content, ensuring stability and durability.

What’s Next?

We’re excited to see where this partnership with WasteWood takes us. More deliveries are already lined up, and with both of us focused on recycled timber, the potential for creative projects is huge.

If you’re in Marrickville, swing by WasteWood to check out the benchtops in person. Joe and the team are always happy to help you find the best fit, whether it’s for a kitchen renovation or a custom timber project.

We’re pumped to keep teaming up with WasteWood and can’t wait to see our recycled timber finding its way into homes and projects all over Sydney. Plenty more exciting collaborations are on the horizon!
