Blackbutt

Recycled mainly from building demolitions in Sydney and further north along the east coast.

TIMBER KNOWLEDGE Blackbutt originally mainly came from the NSW & QLD coastal forests. It is a light brown coloured hardwood, very dense and hard.

Blackbutt: Eucalyptus pilularis

USES Old Blackbutt flooring often develops a beautiful patina with fine dark surface checking.

As a durable timber, it is also excellent for exterior applications like decking and cladding. The density and hardness also makes it great for bench tops and flooring.

Blackbutt is always a popular timber for furniture as the mid browns go well with a wide range of other furnishings and decor.
