Unusually Wide Blackbutt Salvaged Flooring

July 2024

One of our demolition partners is in the process of salvaging a load of exceptionally wide and stunning blackbutt flooring from a harbourside mansion in Clontarf, a northern suburb of Sydney. It will be arriving in our yard very soon, so we wanted to tell you all about it.

WIDE 180 x 17mm BLACKBUTT Flooring FROM A HARBOURSIDE MANSION IN CLONTARF, NSW

Salvaged from a large harbourside mansion in Clontarf NSW these beautiful wider boards are a rare find.

This salvaged flooring is being pulled up right now and will be arriving next week. It is very unusual to get anything wider than 85mm in a salvaged floor board - this floor is currently 200mm wide!

Key features:

  • Boards currently 200mm wide but we will need to remill the tongue and groove and the boards will probably end up 180-190mm wide x 17mm thick.

  • Very easy to lay - the remilled boards will have a fresh tongue and groove.

  • Wide boards show the grain and colour of the recycled blackbutt beautifully. Great for large rooms.
